Borno and Kebbi States Caretaker Committees Inauguration

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), H.E.
Senator (Dr.) Ali Modu-Sheriff charged members of the Borno and Kebbi
states Caretaker Committees to be just and accommodating in the
discharge of their duties.

Senator Sheriff made this remarks on the occasion of the inauguration of
the Borno and kebbi states Caretaker Committees with other NWC members
in attendance on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at the National Secretariat of
the Party.

The Committees were inaugurated as a result of the expiration of the
various chapters of the PDP states Executive Committees.
Responding on behalf of members of the Caretaker Committees, the
Chairmen, Alhaji Rilwanu Dauda Julde for Borno State and Hon. Ibrahim
Shehu Gusau for Kebbi State both thanked members of the National Working
Committee (NWC) for the huge responsibility bestowed on them; and
pledged to work assiduously in the interest of all.

Following the Event, the National Woman Leader, Amb. Dr. (Mrs.) kema
Chikwe informed the public that she will not contest for any position
zoned to her zone, the South East in the forthcoming National Convention
of the Party holding in Port Harcourt on the 21st of May, 2016.

“I am quitting the stage for younger women to come into politics and
take up positions at the Party level and you all know that with my
wealth of experience over the years, I have set an acceptable standards
for others to follow.” Amb. Chikwe said.

Mrs. Chikwe while thanking the Party and Nigeria for giving her such
opportunities to serve, she listed some of her achievements in the Party
to include creation and establishment of PDP e-women network, increasing
women voice in politics, strengthening of Persons with Disabilities
Forum and mobilizing strategic partnership with international
organizations for women.

“I believe that people can always serve at different levels, even
privately; I believe that other women can serve as well, so I will give
them the opportunity.” the National Woman Leader declared.

Amb. Dr. (Mrs.) Kema Chikwe has held different offices since the
inception of the 4th Republic in 1999 before her election in 2012 as the
National Woman Leader on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP).
