Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured residents of Borikiri suburb of Port Harcourt that the roads in the area would be driven to completion.
Addressing residents of the area on Saturday after he inspected completion stages of the Supreme Church Road and New Road in Borikiri, Governor Wike said that the roads are required to improve the living condition of residents of the highly populated suburb.
He reminded residents of the two roads of the extremely dilapidated conditions of the roads at the time he visited alongside former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo before reconstruction work started.
Governor Wike said that the PDP is a political party that will never abandon people centred projects.
He said : “I am happy that these two roads have been transformed and the people are rejoicing at work we have done so far.
“I have directed the contractor to ensure that he reconstructs the remaining 200 metres to the River. That extension will cover other homes in the area”.
Residents of the area trooped out to sing the praises of the governor for reconstructing their roads.
The governor also visited the proposed site of a park along Aba Road.
