The plot to hound Dr. Jonathan, Nigeria’s most enterprising President and nationalist, on trumped-up corruption charges will fail. No anti-corruption effort can succeed while riding on the back of a vicious, vindictive and violent crackdown of opposition elements in any democracy, especially while proven fantastically corrupt associates and co-choristers are endowed with the pleasure of leisure to validly contradict avowed claims on the fight against, or perhaps with or beside, corruption in a country like Nigeria. President Buhari’s men, his very associates, present the greatest stumbling blocks in validating his anti corruption crusade. The world knows that for a fact, and for as long as credible institutional measures are not taken to wholistically address the issue of corruption in Nigeria without recourse to parochial and sectional interests, and advance beyond the accomplishments of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan; for as long as this corruption fight remains a crackdown of opposition elements, it will be a circus show, which is likely to have new performers in the not so distant future, perchance we tarry.
