Chairman of Peoples Mega Party (PMP), Chief Perry Opara, has condemned the claims by the Ebonyi and Rivers States governors, Nyesom Wike and Dave Umahi respectively that PDP will reclaim power from APC in 2019.

Opara further stated that it is a dream for any Nigerian to think that PDP will come back to power in 2019 or even in the future, adding that the party is in comatose and disarray hence, cannot win future elections.

The PMP chairman said this in Abuja through his aide, Anya Goodness, while reacting to media reports which quoted Governor Wike and Governor Umahi as saying that PDP will return to power in 2019.

Opara said: “Wike should kill his optimism and concentrate on providing dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State. Umahi and Wike will fight a battle of their life to get a second mandate in 2019.

“PDP had five out of the six Area councils in the FCT and could not reclaim even one sit in the recent election. How then can such a party start thinking of 2019? The number of states controlled by PDP will reduce so embarrassingly in 2019.”

The chairman further stated that his party was anxious to meet with PDP in the Anambra gubernatorial election in 2017, adding that it will test the popularity of the Mega Party and that of PDP.

While alleging that only PDP parades big names without followers, the chairman called on PDP faithfuls who are young, credible and focused to join the PMP which he described as “the future” while positing that there will be a tsunami in the PDP that will culminate to an overflow for the Mega Party.
