Madam Gladys Nnana of Uhudoko community in Ohanku-Ndoki-Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, who has been widowed for the past ten years without a child, has been presented a house by the President and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere.
Receiving the gift with joy, Madam Nnana explained that her husband died ten years ago, leaving behind a dilapidated mud house for her as her only inheritance.
“The building collapsed many years ago and since then I have been squatting in one sympathiser’s house or the other in the village. Life has not only been unbearable but miserable to me, especially without a child.
“One day the Apostle of OPM church who is neither my relation nor was I member of his ministries met me and had compassion on me and directed one engineer to commence the construction of a building for me. As you can see, today I am a house owner just like that”, she stated.
While handing over the keys of the building to the beneficiary in the presence of the paramount ruler of the area, HRH Eze Joshua O. Dagbor, Apostle Chinyere noted that what God has in stock through him to the people has not been fully utilised in spite of the little the people are seeing.
The cleric promised other widows in the area of adequate comfort and financial assistance in batches to cushion the effect of poverty and agony they are experiencing without a husband by them.
Mr Benjamin Ameachi, who represented the head of the beneficiary’s family said he could not believe that a pastor and a church that is often erroneously believed to be desperately looking for money to make for themselves could do this to somebody that is not related to him.
He thanked the Apostle for allowing himself to be used by God to turn the sadness and sorrow of a poor widow to joy.
Also speaking, the youth leader of the area, Mr Sunday Ekeke said the gesture was like a dream as he could not believe that Madam Nnana who has been moving from one house to the other for shelter, especially during the rains could own a modern house.
He enjoined the wealthy and influential politicians in the area to urgently emulate the Apostle’s footsteps so as to make the place better for the people.
Other widows in the area who turned out in their numbers to welcome Apostle Chinyere and his entourage, sang praises to God for having somebody like him who not only identified with the yearning of the people but has in several ways provided succour to the widows.
They prayed for God to continue to strengthen the man of God and his church members.
