It was a fun filled atmosphere radiating with joy and showering of encomium on the Chairman and Founder of Omoilu Foundation, Senator Buruji Kashamu on Friday 4th March, 2016 as several exotic cars were given to another set of beneficiaries from Sagamu and Ikenne Local Government areas of Ogun State.
Akogun Pegba Otemolu, the South West Secretary of PDP and also doubles as the Adviser General of the foundation in Ikenne local government, eulogised the great philanthropic gesture of Sen. Kashamu; which he described as second to none. There are some few events where I rode in the same vehicle with him and the senator was personally driving, he suddenly pulled over and handed to a blind beggar the sum of $1000. That really amazed me he said. Another one also happened in Lagos when I visited him and on this fateful day too, he drove us. On getting to a junction he saw another blind beggar and he gave the fellow two wraps of N20,000 totalling N40,000 and he zoomed off. These and many other laudable and good deeds really made me to respect him more. The truth is, he is God’s sent, he concluded.
Akogun Otemolu however expressed his displeasure on how women and youth are left out of the empowerment. He advised the state executive members of the foundation to ensure that women and youth are adequately taken care of and included in the scheme of things. I will not endorse any list that does not protect the interest of women and youth, he concluded.
The State Coordinator, Com. Niyi Osoba, enlighten those at the gathering on the foundation cardinal programmes and not limited to donation of vehicles her members; but also include Health, Education, Agriculture, Employment generation and Empowerment.
He eulogised leaders of the two local government and also charged them to do more at improving the membership of the foundation in order to actualise the dreams and aspirations of it founder at empowering all and sundry. Let me assure women and youth in the group that, the foundation is further resolve to ameliorate your sufferings and also to empower you, he concluded.
While presenting the car to one of the beneficiaries, Alh. Mayowa Oyederu from Sagamu expressed his heart felt gratitude to Sen Kashamu for the kind gesture. The last car I was using after mine had fault was giving to me by Hon Ladi Adebutu. Unfortunately, the car was recovered from me after he learnt that I attended a meeting of the OMOILU group few weeks ago. Thank you God, he concluded.
