Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom today joined thousands of other Nigerians at the Kogi Confluence Stadium, Lokoja to witness the inauguration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the 4th Governor of Kogi State.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Ortom who congratulated Governor Bello, pledged the collaboration of Benue State with Kogi and other states in the region to address issues of development especially in the areas of entrepreneurship, industrialisation and security.
He said states of the North Central part of the country would benefit more if they synergize with ideas and resources. Governor Ortom said emphasis of such collaboration would be on youths empowerment and job creation through agriculture.
Earlier, the newly sworn-in Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello assured the people of the state that his administration would initiate projects and programmes to touch the lives of the people and justify their belief in the change revolution.
He paid tribute to President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, for choosing him to replace the late candidate of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Audu who died just before the Kogi State governorship election was concluded.
Also speaking, Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, sued for unity among the states, promising to support Governor Bello to succeed.
The National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun was among dignitaries who graced the ceremony.
