Deputy Governor of Rivers State Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has called on appointees of the State Government to work assiduously and collectively as a team in the task of realizing the vision of the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Dr. Banigo stated this Friday, in her closing remark at a Two-Day Retreat for Top Government Functionaries with the theme: Strengthening Capacity, Efficiency and Service Delivery for Sustainable Development, held at Onne, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The Deputy Governor said the retreat was packaged to equip Government officials to appreciate the mindset of the Vision bearer, Chief Wike in actualizing the New Rivers Vision.
She urged participants to uphold the essence of the Retreat to ensure that the present administration delivers on its mandate to the people and bequeath a worthy legacy for generations to remember.
Dr. Banigo commended the State Governor for his pragmatic and visionary leadership, and employed the Appointees of Government to put necessary knowledge, competencies and skills acquired to bear in the discharge of their duties.
The Deputy Governor thanked the Resource Persons for their in-depth handling of the various topics, and lauded the participants for their comportment, adding that the benefit of the programme should reflect in the way they conduct government businesses.
In an interview, some participants at the Retreat, including the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr. Austin Tam-George said the programme has helped to enrich participants with requisite knowledge to function in the capacities of their assignment.
They noted that the retreat has exposed them to new approach in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the experience gathered will have a multiplier effect on their staff and lauded the Governor for the initiative,
