Apart from the Lagos – Calabar Rail Project not in the 2016 Budget, there’s another all-important project which they didn’t bother to appropriate for: The Bodo – Bonny Road. I will not fail to bring this up at every opportunity.
The Island of Bonny is host to the NLNG. You may recall that, but for the revenue from NLNG shared at the beginning of this administration to states, most would never have been able to clear huge salary backlog left behind by previous administration. You may also recall that the Jonathan administration re-awarded this project in December 2014, following the failure of previous administration to construct this road since it was originally awarded in 2002. You may also recall that the then APC Presidential Candidate, Gen. Buhari, personally promised (when he visited Ogoni in the months leading to the election) to do this road if elected. Sadly, this administration did not appropriate for this all important project.
