Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has directed the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Mmerukini to coordinate the handing over formalities by the Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen to Heads of Local Government.
It should be noted that the outgoing Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen are now expected to Hand Over to the Heads of Local Government. This directive supercedes the earlier directive by the governor.
The directive indicated that the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Service should in conjunction with the Heads of Local Government Areas coordinate the preparation of lists of staff being owed by the Local Government Councils and the number of months the respective councils owe their workers.
